Ferret Rabbit Guinea

Ferret Rabbit Guinea
Rabbit, Guinea Pig, or Ferret?

I am 13 and have 2 cats and a dog. I’d like to get a little pet now. I really want one that will be really social. I also have 4 other siblings but none are younger than age 7. Please provide any information on any small good pet that you have from experience. Also boy or girl? And 1 or 2?

Ferrets are the most social and rabbits are the least social. Guinea pigs are cuddly and ferrets are hyper and always want to play. You need to get 2 guinea pigs or 2 ferrets. Rabbits don’t need to be in pairs but are happier in pairs. Ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs are a lot of work. You should do some research on them before you get them.

Rabbits need lots of space. Their cage needs to be at least 10 square feet and they need to get out of their cage for at least 5 hours a day. Guinea pig cages need to be at least 7.5 square feet and they only need to get out for 45 minutes a day. Ferrets cages need to be 3ft x 2ft x 2ft and they need to get out for 2.5 hours a day.

I have both male and female ferrets and there is really no difference between them. Male guinea pigs are more cuddly but it depends on the pigs personality. Male rabbits are agressive if not neutered.

Ferrets do not smell really bad if you take proper care of the. Never bathe them. Bathing them actually maes them smell worse. Feed them a high quality food with no fish in it. A low quality food will make the ferret smell and fish in their food will make their poo smell really bad. And just clean the cage often. I have 3 ferrets and they never smell.

Its always better to adopt. When you adopt you are saving animals. Its also cheaper to adopt. You can look on petfinder.com, kijiji, craigslist or at shelters.
